From a Smart to LWB Vitara, The world seems soo much smaller now Very Happy

Ive had my Vit for 2 months now, And Loving it (even more when at a pay and play day)

After taking off road at frickly, and getting stuck many times. So i got a 3" suspension lift, and Diff Drop Brackets (from bits 4 vits).

And Planning a 3" body lift and 31" tyres

Only found this site a few days ago while looking for a new steering rack. (bit silly really its broken but it still works, just rubbs on the Front Diff casing)

Its easyer to say its broken Smile

but the arm from bottom of the box has dropped, so its leaking fluid, and its making the rod that links to the steering arm, hit/gouge the diff casing

piccy to follow to give you an idea

sorry its not best quality, or clearest but it should give you an idea that the arm has dropped

Welcome to the forum, I'm probably closest to you (bramley) although I won't be able to join you in any adventures for a while as my SJ isn't t&t and I can't drive a manual at the moment. I think it would be great if you could post some pictures of your vit so If i see you out and about I can toot & wave! and as for smart cars, I'm running round in one at the moment, its a fun little car!

Hello & Welcome. Smile

I had one of the first Smarts in the area years ago. Lefty drive, chipped, spoilered, skirted and exhausted.
It was a right laugh, miss it even now. Laughing Laughing

Hi Yes Bazuki i am still intrested in steering rack Very Happy

I went to buy a R32 skyline, came back with a smart roadie i had it lowered, chipped, bigger injectors, cams, bigger water charge cooler, basicly everything to make it go like it looked.

after 3 crashes, too many breakdowns & repairs (And every one nothing to do with the engine). And one last close call with a lorry, i decided it had to go. Quite a year it had.

Am going to take some pictures of vit at week end, i have got to learn to weld some time before the body shell desolves Smile
