PostSubject: Greetings Earthlings   Fri Dec 05, 2008 11:05 am

I have trialled a Dutton for several years and am now looking at other toys. I have a Scimitar SS1 for trialling in 2009. I also finished building my sporting trials car last month and it is parked on top of it's new trailer, but it is stranded in the workshop behind the dismantled Scimitar. pale
Just looking at the moment, I must get along to a few events pretty soon to suss out what I want to do. Any ideas?

:mommy:

I got some piccies but I can't see how to insert them. The right click Paste menu is greyed out and none of the icons on the top menu seem appropriate. Do I have to upload them to a site then link to them. I'd prefer them to be in the body of the text.

in the menu above the text there are lots of different grey squares if you click on thed one with the poleroid pic on and it will give you an option to put a 'source' in

like wise you could put [img>]before the source( without the >) [/img] and this after it and it will link it through

Well, I sorted out what to buy and chose a Yamaha Serow trail bike for the green lanes. I still have the sporting trials car and access to the Dutton that I sold to my mate. We frequently compete in trials in the Dutton, the three big MCC events, Land's End, Exeter and Edinborough plus several local ones too.

I noticed someone wanting to find lanes in Halifax, I know a really challenging one near Thornton if anyone is up for it. I drove it forty years ago in a road car but since then it has become overgrown and the banks have encroached and the stone walls have started to fall into the gully. I have ridden it on the trail bike recently but would love to see it tackled by a pair of jeeps with winches. As far as I know it is still legally available, no notices to the contrary.

Look on the map for Deep Lane, running between Clayton village and the fire station on Thornton Road. The top end is slippery mud with tractor ruts and is no problem to anything with adequate ground clearance. The track then leads into a gully that is very difficult, rocky, narrow, steep bankings both sides, covered in brambles. There does not appear to be any trees big enough to prevent a determined jeep getting through but it may take a while to force through the clinging bushes.

It would be great to attempt this but don't try it alone, assisstance will be needed, preferably three cars.

email me on rhodesj3@sky.com for more details and please don't go without me, I wanna see it done.

Best to all,

John
