PostSubject: newbie in Chesterfield.   Wed May 11, 2011 9:09 am

Hi,

I don't actually own a complete suzuki, but i am recycling quite a few SJ parts in my hotrod build. And a couple of people have said this is a good place to get advice etc.
If anyones interested its posted in "garages" section of "rodsnsods forum", under "my model A money pit". Sorry don't know how to post direct links. (edit: tried adding link)

Anyway this is as close to offroading as I've got so far! although it look enjoyable and am tempted to have a go, don't think my bank balance could cope with another automotive outlay at the moment! maybe in the future.

that it for now,

cheers, Gav.

Hi scott, think my missus would probably disagree on the 2 projects theory!! Very Happy . And thanks again for the wheel etc.

funny you should mention willys jeeps Smile : I had a good look at one at Chatsworth show a few years ago. Thought then how simple they would be to replicate, single curve panels and easily welded 2mm steel, if you made one to fit on modern 4x4 chassis it should avoid BIVA etc. Don't know how the original chassis compares size wise tho.

Anyway stop putting ideas my head! got to finish current project first!

cheers, Gav.

Can't think they'd be a million miles of fitting on an sj chassis, which is nice as they suffer very little rot, biggest issue I can see is re bodying without it been on a q plate and getting the wheels to look right, prob have to weld some discs into suzuki wheel centres or fit land rover conversion. Il have a stab at one one day I'm sure.

If your missus doesnt like the 2 project thing, you can always swap her for a better model.
