We were laning in West Yorkshire yesterday, but a fair old trek from Shipley, if you want to nip and try a steady lane, google Milner Lane in Otley, it's easy enough, although it's starting to get washed out again.

Hello and Welcome

West Yorkshire is pretty poor for laning, apart from Holmfirth but this is getting hammered. I am in Halifax and it is a very sorry police state where you can go nowhere; however there are many steep cobbled lanes, which are great in Snow, much to the disgust of residents, but what else do you do when the countryside is a no go?????

The only lane with no issues I can think of in Aire valley, is the ford behind Bingley, be careful in flood and also has a bad step in the river, so do not rush. Enjoy. There are a few others in this area but I would encourage you to research first so you know your rights. This time researching gives you confidence when you are challenged for this lawful active. Note many of the routes over the hills from Aire to Wharfe Valley are no go these days all TRO'd.

Keep an eye on forum for trips out.

Hope this does not put you off as we are so few but forewarned is forearmed and will give you a fantastic experience where human ingenuity and wonderful countryside meet.

ll
