Hi all does anyone know if you change your logbook to say a 1.5 diesel instead of a 1.6 petrol do you pay different tax?

I would have thought so but would also think it would need to be checked & approved by vosa maybe I cant imagine it being as simple as just telling dvla you now got a 1.5 diesel fitted & they saying ok that's fine now you can have cheaper tax

I think you need the log book from the donor vehicle and all engine numbers must correspond to the log book. Sometimes VOSA also ask for a receipt from the garage to prove it was changed with the engine numbers etc.

You dont need to vosa it if you arnt changing tax class you inly send engine numbers and change it on log book
if changing tax class need a garage recipe and just like above
